(NMC) — A transformative experience awaited 180 young individuals from Saipan as they gathered for 4-H Marianas’s Camp Maga’lahi. Held from June 12 to  24,  the camp was a collaboration between Northern Marianas College's Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services Family, Community, and Youth Development program and 4-H Marianas, and it aimed to immerse participants in indigenous culture, marine environments, and healthy eating practices.

THE U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded Northern Marianas College $10 million to help create, cultivate and expand a “next generation” agri-tourism workforce for the CNMI.

AT a hands-on workshop attended by about 30-40 community members on Saturday, June 3, agroforestry educator Dr. Craig Elevitch and members of Northern Marianas College-Cooperative Research Extension and Education Services shared techniques for creating regenerative food forests with participants.

JESSE Deleon Guerrero, an agroforestry and food and nutrition security extension agent at Northern Marianas College-Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services, was the lone CNMI participant in the Young Pacific Leaders or YPL conference held on Guam from April 17 to 20.

(NMC) — As part of the continuing efforts to enhance the ability of the CNMI community to recover from disasters, the Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services of the Northern Marianas College recently trained and certified 35 residents in Disaster Response Advanced First Aid or DRAFA.

(NMC) — Research is being conducted at Northern Marianas College's Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services or NMC-CREES to investigate the revenue-generating potential of the noni plant, a vital herbal plant widely grown and used as medicine, food, and drink in the islands.
