NMC-CREES conducts food safety training

Northern Marianas College – Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services (NMC-CREES), in partnership with the University of Idaho, recently provided food safety training for farmers and producers from Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.

(NMC) — Northern Marianas College’s Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services has completed the first series of community input meetings with  CNMI aquaculture producers, regulatory and permitting agencies, resource agencies, business community and stakeholders.

(NMC) — Northern Marianas College-Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services Interim Dean Patty Coleman and NMC-CREES Family, Community, and Youth Development State Program Leader Tayna Belyeu-Camacho recently met with members of the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy’s or ECOP National 4-H Leadership Committee in Kona, Hawaii after receiving an invitation to present on the 4-H Marianas program in the CNMI.

Thirteen parents from the Family-to-Family program under the Northern Marianas College – Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services’ Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program or EFNEP recently completed nine lessons focused on nutrition, physical activity, healthy recipes, and food safety.

Students from the Tasi-to-Table organization visited the Northern Marianas College – Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services’ Aquaculture and Natural Resources Facility on Dec. 3, 2022.

The Girls Scouts learned how to make nutritious snacks thanks to Ashley Sikayun of Northern Marianas College-Cooperative Research Extension, and Education Services who also explained the benefits of healthy eating.
